Halloween Essentials

Halloween is the best time of year and it's best to be prepared for the season of dressing up and going out all night, so I decided to write a list of the essential items you might need to be prepared for this Halloween. Hope you find some inspiration from this list, feel free to comment below what you think are some Halloween essentials.

India X

White Face Paint - This is a must at Halloween, as so many looks have a white base, like a skull, the Joker or a vampire, and luckily white face paint (or even a really pale foundation) is really easy to get at Halloween. Most £ shops and makeup stores will have a white face paint at Halloween, along with some other colours like black, so now would be the perfect time to stock up and start practicing your Halloween look.

Fake Blood - If you like goring up your costume at Halloween then fake blood is an important feature. Apart from the temporary staining of the skin and anything else it touches, fake blood can look so realistic and can be used in so many different looks. Unfortunately this year I won't be needing fake blood but I still love creating FX cuts and scars and making them ooze with fake blood. If you're stuck this Halloween then get some fake blood and play around with it to see what horrors you can create.

Make Up - Obviously  make up is important, but now is the time to check out the shops to see what Halloween themed products your favourite make up brands have in stock, (Revolution make up have some great themed palettes and products available right now). It's also the time that you'll be buying specific products for your Halloween look, like black lipsticks or red eyeshadow, so you all know how important make up is at Halloween.

Cat ears/Devil horns - Some subtle Halloween accessories are great fun so it's good to have some cat ears or even some devil horns to spook up your outfits in October. You can also get other clip in hair accessories like devil horns or skeleton bone clips. I like this Devil Horns head band from New Look and this Bat Wings head band from H&M

Glitter - If you're all about feminine, girly Halloween looks this year then glitter is your friend. Unicorns and mermaids are popular outfit choices this year, which means there will be glitter everywhere, in hair and on eyelids and cheek bones and body glitter and glitter costumes. This Barry M Glitter Dust is perfect and this Chunky Glitter Unicorn Dust is great to sprinkle onto your head for sparkly hair.

Hair dye - If you really want to go all out for Halloween then you might even dye your hair to go with your costume, I like the Colour Freedom dyes as they are very vivid as well as being cheap and doesn't damage your hair, it's only temporary and washes out after a few washes, perfect for Halloween. If you want to do something less permanent then there is always spray in hair dye, which you can get literally anywhere, like the supermarket or the poundshop or a drugstore. I like the L'Oreal Colorista Sprays as they look good but wash out instantly.

Tights - As it's getting cold this time of year, a pair of festive tights can really help glam up your sexy Halloween look. I find that Primark always has some great tight for a very low price, like these Skeleton Tights and these ASOS Cobweb Tights

Clothing - If you're not a love of getting totally dressed up with face paint and crazy costumes, then there's always the easy option of going out and grabbing some spooky Halloween themed clothing. If you're in the UK then Primark and H&M always have Halloween items in during October, like skeletton leggings and witchy T-shirts. I love when shops sell this type of thing around Halloween, it's simple and funny but still acceptable for this time of year.
